Going Again | Life Cycles

30 September 2026

From traumatic life-changing injuries to a lag in performance or sudden physical or emotional loss, how do we adjust our life lens to overcome these setbacks and get going again?

Since breaking his back in 2001 while training for the Argus Cycle Tour, Andrew Stodel was paralysed from the sternum down, yet he did not let this get in the way of him going on to become a highly competitive and determined road and hand cyclist who has gone on to achieve many podium finishes, despite the challenges he has faced.

On the other mic is respected clinical psychologist and performance consultant, Neil Tuck. Neil is a Cape Town-based clinical psychologist (M.A. Clin. Psych.) at the Sports Science Institute who has been helping athletes, teams and executives perform under pressure. Having worked in private practice and performance consulting for a number of years, his passion and expertise continue to motivate and assist athletes and patients alike in mastering the psychology of performance and well-being.

Listen to Andrew and Neil as they speak to Gerald de Kock about the cycles of life – and what it takes to get back on the bike after a life-changing setback.

This engaging episode and others are now available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
